Winter Branches
Imagined planting
In winter, once the leaves are gone, the branches stand out against the bare landscape. You can see how many lines are there, crossing each other. Snow gathers on them, softening some edges and making others stand out.
I brought those branching marks into these planters, trailing them in white underglaze and carving them into the pots themselves. The orbs came first, designed with succulents in mind. Their cutouts let plants trail and twine through, creating framed “snapshots” of the plant.
The double-walled planters came next, with a flat planting area and plenty of drainage for bonsai or orchids.
